How we review

Every product on this site is something our household bought. Each page has the same parts.

What is on every page

  • Ownership facts from our real order history: when we first bought it, and how many times we bought it again.
  • What it does and the specs, from the maker.
  • What owners say: praise and complaints that come up again and again across reviews, forums and Reddit, in our own words. We never copy Amazon customer reviews.
  • How it compares with two or three real alternatives, and who should skip it.
  • Sources listed on every page.

Scores

Every product gets an overall score out of 10 and four sub-scores that fit its category. A research score comes from the maker details and what owners consistently report. When Drew adds his own hands-on notes, it becomes a review score and the page says so.

Images

Pictures marked AI illustration are generated to show the product in use. They are never presented as our photos. Our own photos are being added over time and are labelled as ours.

Money

We do not show prices because they change daily; the button opens the current one. We earn a small commission when you buy through our links. That never changes a score, and a bad verdict stays a bad verdict.
